Lionel Messi is now considered to be the greatest player ever by most of the football pundits. Before the 2010-11 season Leo Messi was considered to be one of the best players ever and the absolute best of this generation. He was already world famous around 2007 as he created some historical moments already by that age. Messi scored a hat trick vs Real Madrid at 19 , scored Solo 'Goal of The Century' in 2007 vs Getafe. As his playing style as similar to Diego Maradona he was being called "Messidona". Messi even scored a hand goal like Maradona. Then in 2009/2010 season he was doing magic specially by scoring some of the best goals ever and people were already declaring him as one of the best player ever. But he and Barcelona lost to Inter Milan and Mourinho in 2009/10 CL semi final. But the next season Leo Messi put Barcelona back to where they belong and cemented his name as the best player ever.

Messi destroyed teams like Copenhagen, Panathinaikos, Rubin Kazan in group stage, Arsenal in round of 16, Shaktar Donetsk in quarter finals and Real Madrid in semi final almost single handedly. Scored 2 goals Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu one of which is probably the best goal ever scored in UEFA champions League (Messi Solo Goal vs Real Madrid). Then in the final he ran the show and won Barcelona the 3rd Champions League in 6 years.
